Incised “W” and dated “MCMLXII” to the base
A tall, sculptural vase from Wallwork’s Greenwich studio, its shouldered, waisted form incised with fine vertical lines and inlaid with slip. Born in Watford, Wallwork studied at Goldsmiths and set up his first studio in Forest Hill in the late 1950s, before moving to Greenwich in 1960 and to Dorset in 1964. His work is held by the Victoria and Albert Museum.
